Popcorn is such a universally loved snack that creating a fancier version with this truffle parmesan popcorn is guaranteed to be a definite crowd pleaser.
The weekend was busy with my office holiday party Friday and a wedding on Saturday.
I can’t remember the last time I had a weekend so jam packed with plans that warranted back-to-back nights hiring a babysitter.
At both events I found myself all dolled up in high heels. Most days my preferred mode of transportation is on foot, so I favor flats.
I love a fashion sneaker, too.
Back-to-back fancy evenings, and I am totally worn out!
And that’s for more reasons than just my footwear choices.
While I do love December, I try my best to keep my sanity attempting to alternate my usual holiday from-scratch cooking projects with timesavers.
This especially comes in handy for all these wonderful social obligations. Also on my to-do list was making a nibble to bring to bring to a wine & cheese at a friend’s place.
Instead of starting from scratch, I dressed up one of my favorites in a flash and made a cocktail bar-worthy snack, truffle parmesan popcorn.
Popcorn seems like a universally loved bite. Creating a fancier version is pretty much guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.
First, I start with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn.
Then in a small skillet over medium heat, I gently melt butter and stir in fragrant truffle oil.
After that, I pour the truffle oil butter mixture over the popcorn, tossing to coat, along with grated Parmesan and black pepper.
When I am bringing the truffle Parmesan popcorn to share at a friend’s house, I like to transport it in a paper bag.
Serving the popcorn in such a simple way, I think is a fun contrast to this dressed up version of snack food.
