Buttermilk

Melted Butter

Cornmeal

Baking Powder Baking Soda Salt

Sugar

Eggs

Flour

Vegetable Oil

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.

Whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil and both eggs in a medium bowl.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Slowly stir them until they are almost combined, but you can still see some of the flour-cornmeal mixture.

Add the melted butter and gently stir the ingredients until the batter is just combined.

Spread the batter into a 9-inch square baking pan greased with non-stick cooking spray and lined with parchment paper.

Bake the cornbread until it is golden brown and the edges pull away from the sides of the pan. Serve warm with softened butter and/or honey.
