Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Light Brown Sugar

Unsalted Butter

Granulated Sugar

Egg

Flaky  Sea Salt

All-Purpose Flour

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Vanilla Extract

Kosher Salt

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and both sugars until pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, making sure that all the wet ingredients are fully combined before adding the dry ingredients.

For the dry ingredients, combine the  all-purpose flour, baking powder and kosher salt in a medium bowl.

Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Keep stirring until you only can see just a little flour at the edges of the bowl.

Stir in the chocolate chips. They should be evenly distributed throughout the dough. If you don't have semi-sweet chips, you can use milk, dark or a mix.

Spread the batter into an 8x8 baking pan greased with butter and lined with parchment paper. Scatter additional chocolate chips on top.

Bake in a 350-degree F oven for 28-30 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt immediately after removing the pan from the oven.
