Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Put the butter and chocolate in a bowl over a pot of simmering water to melt them.

Stir the sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and salt into the melted chocolate and butter mixture.

Beat in the eggs until they are fully incorporated into the batter.

Then stir in the all-purpose flour.

To make the cheesecake swirl, use an electric mixer to beat together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract and egg.

Spoon the brownie batter and cream cheese mixture into the pan. Alternate them as you sprinkle in half the Oreo cookies.

Swirl the batters together using a knife. Start with a figure 8, and then make some smaller swirls. Top with the remaining Oreos.

Bake the brownies until they are just set in the middle and still fudgy, about 30-35 minutes.
