Overnight Steel-Cut Oats

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 3 cups water
  • Milk
  • Dried or fresh fruit, nuts and seeds for serving

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Add the oats and toast for a few minutes, shaking the pan. Pour in the water and bring to a rolling boil. Remove from the heat, cover and let stand overnight at room temperature. Add milk, fruit, nuts and seeds before serving

Notes

Recipe makes about 3 cups steel-cut oatmeal.
